You don’t need prior experience - just a willingness to explore. I’ll guide you through every step, so you come away with something you’re proud to hang. Past participants, from first-time painters to seasoned creatives, have left amazed by what they achieved in just two days.
What to Expect
On Day 1 We’ll wander around the farm, sketching animals and flowers to loosen up and get into our creative juices flowing. Back in the studio, I’ll do a demo and then guests will make two or three initial mock-ups on paper, with paint, pastels and textures to use as a prototype. Then, taking inspiration from our prototype, we will create the initial textural layers on the canvas.
On Day 2 We’ll apply the first layers of paint. I’ll show you how to use lots of different tools and techniques. Don’t worry if you feel nervous about the large canvas; it’s actually a very freeing experience working big because you cant’ get too lost in detail. Explore materials such as mud, sand, acrylics, tissue paper, pastels and way more. We’ll switch between looking at the canvas from afar and up close to achieve a perfect balance between detail and initial impact. You’ll leave with a canvas
